Napa Valley winery image update

A comprehensive landscape re-design is the focus of this site renovation. Originally built in the 1970’s, the winery has prominent frontage on Highway 29 in Napa Valley. A series of concrete and corten steel site elements are introduced with additional plantings, complementing the existing buildings while updating the winery’s image. Pylons at the end of each vineyard row identify the winery from the highway and create a sculptural rhythm. A courtyard enhances the tasting room, and is enclosed with a screen that repeats the pylon elements. Low boardform walls define the reconfigured parking area and create a backdrop for perennial and grass plantings. Site graphics are designed to harmonize with other elements and further enhance the winery identity.
